The first tip is you should realize there can be a difference in pronouncing the exact same word.
第一条，一个单词是有可能有不同的读音的
For example,

The reason why they are pronounced differently is that they have different meanings.
之所以如此，是因为它们有不同的意思
And when you want them to mean what you want them to mean,
当你想要这些单词表示你想要让它们表示的意思的时候
I don"t know if it"s too tricky for you to understand,
好像说太绕了
Um, you need to pronounce it differently.
你会需要发不同的音
For example, we pronounce graduate /"grduet/
比如你发这个音的时候
you refer to its meaning as a verb.
你指的是它作为动词的意思
And when you pronounce this word as graduate /"grdut/,
而当你发这个音的时候
you refer to its meaning as an adjective or as a noun.
你指的是它作为形容词或名词的意思
You should focus on what you want the word to mean

so that you can pronounce the word correctly.

The second tip is that a word can be pronounced completely differently from what you have assumed by its spelling.
第二条，一个单词可以有和它的拼写完全不同的发音
And also it is possible for two words that are spelled very very similarly to have different pronunciations.
即使是两个拼得差不多的单词也有这样的可能
For example, how do you pronounce this word?
举个例子，你怎么读这个单词
I think a lot of you would pronounce this was as /:f/? You"re correct.
我想你们应该会这么发音吧，这是对的
And how about this one?
那这个呢
I wonder whether you pronounce this word as /:f/.
我在想你们是否会把这个词发成这样
Well, however, the word is pronounced as
但是这个词是这么读的
So you see, you have to be careful when pronouncing a word. It is very delicate.
所以，读单词的时候要小心，这是很微妙的
Of course, it might not matter that much,

but I think it"d be better if you pronounce each and every word correctly, right?

Well, actually this word isn"t pronounced as /klz/.
实际上这个单词不这么发音
It"s pronounced as /klz/
是这么发音
It actually has something to do with the connection of speech.

When two consonants meet, the one before is to be deleted usually.
当两个辅音在一起的时候，前面的那个通常会被省略删去
In this case, the sound // should be deleted because it"s followed by /z/ sound.

So the word would be pronounced as /klz/ .
所以这个词应该这么发音
The same as "months".
月这个词也一样
